What do you need to start:
- Wininstall 8.73 eval or full version
- Running Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or 2005 Standard and all Service Packs
- A Windows 2000/2003 Server with c: d:
- Access to generate a ADS user called "deploy" which will be in group "Domain Admins"
- A Windows 2000/XP client where you can try installing the Agent and Packages
We have chosen the full version of SQL to educate. There is SQL MSDE Desktop Edition version of Wininstall. But I think for real
interested companies it's good idea to buy the SQL 2000 standard. Maybe with the 2005 out soon you even get a good price from
a dealer for this. You can all MS products and open/volume licenses trough Butsch Informatik. We are a listed MS dealer since 1993.
You are able to run WUS Windows Update Server over the SQL2000. So it's a good investment if you don't already have one in place.
